Before You Install
Check our Compatibility Guide if you want to know whether Acrolinx for XMetaL Author works with your local platforms.
Before you install, make sure you have the following:

You'll need administrator rights for your operating system to complete some of these steps.
Install
To install Acrolinx for XMetaL, follow these steps:

Download the Acrolinx for XMetaL .msi file from your company download area, or get it from your Acrolinx administrator.

Close any open programs, including XMetaL Author.

Double-click the .msi file and follow the installer instructions.
Update
To update Acrolinx for XMetaL, you don't have to remove the previous version of Acrolinx for XMetaL. Simply follow the standard installation procedure for the new version as described under "Install."
Have a look at the Acrolinx for XMetaL - Release Notes to make sure you're using the most up-to-date version of Acrolinx for XMetaL Author.
Plan an XMetaL Author Update
Planning to update to the latest version of XMetaL Author? You’ll need to uninstall Acrolinx for XMetaL first.
To update Acrolinx for XMetaL, follow these steps:

Uninstall Acrolinx for XMetaL.

Update your XMetaL Author application to the newest version.

Reinstall Acrolinx for XMetaL.
Uninstall
To uninstall Acrolinx for XMetaL:

Close any open instances of XMetaL Author

Uninstall Acrolinx for XMetaL like any other Windows program.
If you want to uninstall XMetaL Author completely, be sure to uninstall Acrolinx for XMetaL first.
