What you should know about installing, uninstalling, and updating.
Before You Install
Check our Compatibility Guide if you want to know whether Acrolinx for FrameMaker works with your local platforms.
Before you install, make sure you have the following:

Install
If you do the installation yourself, you'll need to get the installer file from your company download area. If you don't have access, ask your Acrolinx administrator for the file.
To install Acrolinx for FrameMaker, follow these steps:
- Close all programs, including FrameMaker.
- Double-click the installer in Windows and follow the on-screen instructions.
Update
You don't have to remove the previous version of Acrolinx for FrameMaker before installing a newer version. To upgrade Acrolinx, follow the standard installation procedure.
TIP
Check out the Acrolinx for Adobe FrameMaker Release Notes to make sure you're using the most up-to-date version of Acrolinx for FrameMaker.
NOTICE
Planning to update FrameMaker? You’ll need to uninstall Acrolinx first. Check out our Compatibility Guide before you reinstall Acrolinx to make sure it works with your new editor version. We usually adapt Acrolinx to the latest version of FrameMaker.
Uninstall
To remove Acrolinx, close FrameMaker and follow the Microsoft Windows procedure for changing and removing programs.
