Before You Install
Check our Compatibility Guide to make sure Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Office works with your local platform.
Before you install, make sure you have the following:

Install
The Acrolinx for Microsoft Office 365 integration may be installed two different ways depending on whether your organization centrally manages the distribution of Microsoft Add-ins.
Install from the Add-ins
To install Acrolinx for organizations without centrally-managed add-ins, do the following:
- From the main ribbon in your Microsoft Application, click the Add-ins button
- At the bottom of the pop-up window, click More Add-ins.
- In the search box, search for Acrolinx
- The Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Office add-in should appear in the search results.
- Click the Add button, then accept the license terms and privacy policy by clicking Continue.
- Restart the application as needed.
If this method does not work and you are unable to install add-ins directly within the application, you may need to contact your Microsoft administrator to install the add-in from Microsoft Appsource.
Install from the Microsoft Appsource
To install Acrolinx in a centrally-managed environment, do the following:
- Navigate to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
- Go to Settings > Integrated apps.
- Click Get apps and search for "Acrolinx" This should return 2 results: Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Office and Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Outlook.
- Click Get it now next to the app you want to install.
- Adjust the settings and audience for the app and click Deploy.
Update
All minor releases are updated automatically in Microsoft 365, so no manual action is required.
Major releases require a manual update. To update to the latest version of Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Office, install the latest version from the AppSource as described in the install section
Uninstall
To uninstall Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 Office, do the following:
- Sign in to your Microsoft 365 admin account.
- Select the app launcher icon and choose Admin.
- In the navigation menu, select Settings > Integrated Apps.
- Click ... > Remove.
