Version 1.2.0 (7 April 2025)
We're happy to announce a new update designed to improve your workflow continuity and ensure the accuracy of your document information. This release tackles a key issue with webhook renewals after expiration and prevents Acrolinx checks from unintentionally altering document metadata.
Improvements
-
Preserving Document Metadata
To help maintain the integrity of your document information, running an Acrolinx check on a document or library will no longer change the "Modified" date or "Modified by" user metadata. These details will now accurately reflect the last actual modification by a user.
Bug Fixes
-
Webhook Renewal After Expiration
We've fixed an issue where renewing a webhook subscription wasn't possible after it had already expired. Now, you can easily renew the webhook to keep background checks enabled for your library, even if the previous subscription period ended.
Previous Versions
Version 1.1.0 (12 December 2022)
We're excited to announce the latest release of Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 SharePoint. The name's a little different, but you still get the same functionalities (with a few enhancements). Think increased permission levels, a timeout feature, and an easier way for you to renew your webhook! Read on for more details.
Platform Support
This version of Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 SharePoint works with:
- Acrolinx Platform version 2022.05 or later
Improvements
-
New Name
To avoid confusion, we've renamed Acrolinx for SharePoint Online to Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 SharePoint. This aligns with recent changes from Microsoft.
-
Set Custom Permissions
You can now restrict API permissions to specific site collections instead of granting permissions to the whole tenant. This is great for companies that share one SharePoint tenant. Learn more about the feature.
-
Timeout for "Stuck" Checks
In some cases, an Acrolinx check could get stuck. To make sure that checking runs smoothly, we've added a timeout feature based on file size. If a check gets stuck, Acrolinx now cancels the individual check and moves on to the next file – this can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
-
Webhook Renewal
By default, you can attach a webhook to SharePoint libraries for up to 180 days. We've now included the option to renew a webhook subscription within the integration’s configuration panel. Anyone who has access to the Acrolinx configuration page for a specific library can renew.
-
Disable the “Check on Save or Document Upload” Automation
Don’t want to use automated checking? You can now turn it off. Learn how to set this up in the admin guide.
Version 1.0 (10 August 2022)
Say hello to our newest integration — Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 SharePoint. Now, you can make the most of Acrolinx baseline and trigger checking in Microsoft 365 SharePoint. Read on to learn more.
Platform Support
This version of Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 SharePoint works with:
- Acrolinx Platform version 2022.05 or later
Features
-
Batch Check All Content
Want to get an overview of the quality of the content in your library? Our Batch Check feature lets you check all of the content in your library at once. Once a check finishes, you can dig into the details of your check even further in the Content Analysis dashboard.
NOTEYour results might look a little different than they do when you check with a Sidebar Integration. This is because the Sidebar only extracts and checks editable content from the current view. Batch checks, on the other hand, take the content directly from a content repository.
-
Start a Check When You Save
Keep an eye on how your content is doing without running a manual check. When you save a document in the online versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Acrolinx checks it automatically. You'll then see the updated score in the library UI.
-
Choose Which File Extensions You Want to Check
Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 SharePoint lets you choose the types of file extensions that you want to check. You can select these from a dropdown in the configuration menu. If you prefer to use regex to configure your file types, you can do this in the advanced settings.
-
Set Individual Targets for Specific Libraries
Make the most of Targets in your SharePoint libraries! With Acrolinx for Microsoft 365 SharePoint, you can set different Targets for different libraries. If you have a Marketing library, for example, you can configure the “Marketing” Target for that library.
-
Use Acrolinx in Teams
Get an overview of how your content scores in Microsoft Teams! You'll automatically see the Acrolinx Score for your content, but you won't be able to use the batch and single check options in this view.
-
Configure a Quality Gate
Although an Acrolinx quality gate isn't available out of the box, you can create a quality gate with the help of Power Automate in SharePoint. You might set up a flow based on changes to the Acrolinx Score or Acrolinx Status columns, for example. Learn more in the Microsoft 365 SharePoint Admin Guide.
