Improvement
Removed Internet Explorer Components from the Sidebar
In previous versions of Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor, the Sidebar used Internet Explorer 11 components. This caused some hiccups when you tried to use the Sidebar without Internet Explorer 11. The good news is that we got rid of all Internet Explorer components. We now use Microsoft Edge Chromium to show our Sidebar, so you're back on track.
Bug Fix
Wrong Issue Highlighted
When you ran a check on an HTML file in MadCap Flare, the selected issue card wouldn't always match the highlighted content. The culprit was a bug in the way Acrolinx calculated word position in the file. We've fixed this.
Important for Windows Users
Some Windows Instances Require WebView 2
WARNING
This is important if you're on Windows and use Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor. It doesn't apply to Windows 11.
If you aren't on Windows 11 and use Acrolinx for MadCap Flare and Contributor, you need to download and install WebView 2 from Microsoft. This is because we've updated the Sidebar to use Microsoft Edge Chromium instead of Internet Explorer.
You can download WebView 2 from the page WebView2 - Microsoft Edge Developer. Linux and macOS users don't need WebView 2.
